Hi everyone, I have read through most of the threads regarding buying a jailbreaking dongle on this site and others, but I still haven't
been able to decide which device to buy yet. From what I've read, it appears that price (of course!) and flash memory are the main concerns,
since everything else is the same from dongle to dongle. Oh yeah, and there is the added question of the reliability of the company and
shipping etc.
Could anyone recommend a good device that would allow me to update in future and that comes from a reasonably reliable company? Price-wise I
am prepared to pay for quality, and I don't mind waiting a little extra if it means it comes with no hassle. So far I'm thinking of getting
either P3Break or Cobra as I've heard good things about them.
The new PS3Break should work fine since it has a downgrader and coms with enough writeable space to handle future payloads. I have the older ps3break and it worked great. I have a question for you though. Why don't you just get the custom firmware for 3.55 or 3.56 and hack your PS3 with that? It will give you all the abilities of the dongle jailbreak devices but without the hassle of unplugging and hitting eject every time you use it. I have one PS3 I use with the ps3break and one I just put custom firmware on. If you want more info about the custom firmware route then reply to this thread and I will help you out.
Personally I would not buy anything, with cfw being so easy and no dongle needed. If I did buy something, it would have to be the cobra, with it's features being the only new ones lately.
Hmm, is it really easy to install the custom CFW? If it is then I won't bother with a dongle. I'm not really good at tech stuff so I'm looking for the easiest solution possible, and I heard that most dongles are just plug and play.
If I install the custom CFW, I won't need to "switch" between CFWs right? As in, the custom one will be always resident in my PS3?
