Im about to order either Amazebreak or Eclpis3 from mod-chip.com.
I have slim ps3 with firmware 3.6.
How do I make this work. Any suggestions?

so my discovery is that 3.6 is not downgradable or jail breakable. my only option looks like is to return my ps3 for a new one.. agree?... as a last resort is there any way to format or have the ps3 start from scratch.. format it some how

There is currently no way to downgrade or jailbreak 3.60

Bring the system back and get your money back. Tell them that the TOS is simply unacceptable and they will be forced to give you a refund (plus, that is feedback that sony might actually notice).

Then, buy a used system from ebay or a pawn shop or something...just make sure it does not have 3.60 installed (ask the ebay seller...or make the pawn shop turn the system on to prove that it works).

Make sure the replacement PS3 has FW 3.55 or lower or you won't be able to mod it.
