i dont care about hacking my ps3 but just wanted to know what the pro's of doing so.

Sony have no control of your system
Sony cannot force you into agreeing to their ToS
Sony cannot force you to sign away your rights
Sony cannot rip you off
Sony cannot obtain then give away your personal details
Sony cannot steal and remove any features from your ps3
Sony will lose profit
Sony will run a tantrum about it
Sony will cry about it
Sony will not be happy that your ps3 have more features than their official ps3

CFW allows linux to run on all ps3s under 3.55, see latest news; may soon be possibl eon 3.6x consoles
CFW allows backups to run
CFW allows some emulators to run
CFW supports more of the popular video codecs to work
CFW doesnt wear out your bluray drive


Cons:
Currently no psn.
yeah that's about it, no psn
oh and cannot play 3.6x games atm until new keys are found. But plenty of pre-3.6x games around.
