I have an 80 gb hard drive in my PS3 right now, and I am soon to get a new hard drive for my computer and put my 320 gb in my PS3. If I back up my game data, will I still be able to use it when I replace the hard drive?
Well, I guess what I want to do is to transfer my game data from the 80 gig to the 320 gig, perhaps by using a flash drive to carry it over, since I really don't have too much game data at current. I just want to make sure that my game data will still work after slapping a new hdd in there.

you said you want to use the harddrive from your computer for the ps3,if its a 3.5,wont fit,if its a 2.5 then yes,and the ps3 has a backup utilty, should be no problems
ps3 does have a backup utility, but this requires having a third drive. You backup files to the 3rd drive, replace the ps3 hdd then copy the data back to the new ps3 hdd.
If its a jailbroken ps3 you may be able to ftp files to your pc then change drive then ftp them back but not sure.
