Hi everyone. I have been reading up on the True Blue dongle and its features, debating or not whether to get one. I still have a few questions before
making my purchase, so I hope anyone who has one or who has information on it can help me.
1. Is it easy to use? From the reviews I've read it's the closest I've seen to a "plug-and-play" dongle. I'm pretty bad with computer stuff so this
is kinda important to me.
2. Will it be updated beyond 3.73?
3. My current firmware is official firmware 3.55...will this pose any problems?
4. Where is a good place to buy it? (that ships reliably etc etc...more concerned with reliability than price)
1) From what I hear yes, you just need to install their cfw though.
2) Do you mean will it work on a ps3 which currently has fw 3.73 on it? If so then no, not until someone finds the keys, and if that happens you will not need the dongle anyway.
3) No, you are fine, you will need to install TB's cfw though.
4) I used lightake.com to get a ps3yes dongle when the clones started pouring out last year, not not bought any of the recent ones as I'd rather wait for a free solution and I have 2 ps3s anyway.
Pretty sure TB website has a distributores list if you wanna check for a place closer to you.
If you are desperate to play newer games then get a dongle, if you can live without one for a few months I would say wait and see what happens; there are a few ppl working on a free solution but will take time if they can do it.
i have been waiting for a newer cfw for about a year i am on 3.55 and still nothing kids killing me thay cant play newest games i thing is 360 with a xkey i thing
loads of stuff about 4.0 on youtube but its all balls
Can anyone explain to me How some games work and some don't? I see that some say external and internal and discless Just trying to get all my facts straightened out before purchasing one. Thanks in advance.

Games are encrypted with keys, if you know the keys you can play backups. If you dont know the keys you cannot play any game.
Hackers found the 3.55 keys, which is why pre-3.55 games work.
Some post-3.55 games can be patched, or the official game updates came with 3.55 keys instead of 3.56 keys.
Who knows why some only work on external, probably something to do with the coding maybe.
Some games check for a disc in the drive, which is why any ps3 game disc will work for them.
Note that if you are thinking of buying a new ps3, make sure you dont get a 300x version or a 250x version. All 300x ones cannot be hacked, and some of the 250x ones cannot be hacked either.
Best bet would to be buy a 2nd hand console which you know is on 3.55 rather than buying a new one and then buying a downgrade dongle.
