no cfw is safe if you use homebrew... stealth multiman is good... you wont get banned by having cfw... you get banned by running homebrew like multiman...

while DEX gives you full control over the system it takes away few things the normal ps3 has... DEX does not have cinavia.. DEX does not play movies(DVD/BLURAY) but you can still stream movies and use showtime... DEX does not have PSN/SEN access... DEX does not update games... DEX can be downgraded to any DEX firmware to a certain limit set by the unit itself(the limit is the lowest version of firmware you can install)... the same apply to upgrading... DEX can run games from images compiled by PS3 generator from usb.. DEX can run games from network using Sony target manager all this w/o even using multiman... this is just a small portion of what it can do... for a normal user its quite a lot to take in.. the debug options alone can make your head spin.. the debug menu alone has 62 options... and pretty much any other option located throughout the XMB in the various locations... for the average user all this is not advised... unless you REALLY want one... and yes... DEX does have few CFWs to play with... to name a few DEX rogero 3.55 and PS3ita DEX 4.21.... and YES you can bring DEX online to use PSN/SEN with the right tools...
