You wanted CFW got caught now you wanna cry? Seriously? If you remove the stuff you should be in the clear but will be on a list somewhere I am sure. And if that hasn't scared you enough there are reports of bans actually happening already ~ http://attackofthefanboy.com/news/reports-ps3-bans-begun/

I can only assume that your previously hacked PS3 is now flagged.I can assume that they have a way to ID your console and keep it on a database but that just me making that assumption. If I were hacking mys PS3 I will never connect it to PSN just because we don't know what they are capable of doing.I called Sony today and asked if the bans that they are doing is for PSN only or is a console ban. The response I got from the agent is "I'm not allowed to discuss that at this time."
Again your very very lucky that you only got a warning and did not get banned asap.

Every PS3 has a special "Console ID", so MAC spoofing, IP masking etc wont help, those that used CFW and went online at the same time have only themselves to blame if they get banned.

I'm not sure if this is accurate but sounds interesting enough
there is yet another tracking CSR on the PS3 and there is no way for user's to access it. and the only way to shut it off is to turn your PS3 off. if you take the PS3 online PD. your own PS3 keep's track of what you play on the PS3!
you do not even have to be connected to PSN this runs in the background of your PS3 ON A HARDWARE LEVEL.
there is no way to turn it off because it's embedded on a hardware level.
it's something even if they try to mask it there is no way they can mask it. that's the point.
that CSR cannot be turned off. Even though the PS3 was cracked it was not stopped from useing the CSR technology embedded on the Hardware level. that you cannot remove.
it's embedded into every PS3. you own PS3 squeel's on you. you have to keep the system completely off the internet to stop sending CSR relay info back to sony about your PS3 , the PS3 does it outright and there is no way to once again turn it off.

Formating your hdd will do nothing for you. I just put in a new hdd and after the system had to format it for operation I was still on cfw. I just had to reinstall the backup manager.

i have been on 3.56 OFW for a while now.... however under the game menu where u had the install packages folder there was an unknown folder...... the only way to remove that was to format the hard drive on a LAPTOP... then put it back in ps3 it will reformat it. then you can go online. (i tried going online no ban).

SO I take it your new ps3 will be the jailbroken one then? If they are both slims thats ok, but note that slims use upto 40% less electricity than phats. So best use the slim for whichever console you are going to use the most, jailbreak or online.
All this ban is going to do is increase ps3 sales, people will have 2 ps3 so they can jailbreak and go online. So sony will make money in teh next couple of months but after that some developers may turn away. It wasnt so bad with the xbox at least M$ didnt chase, sue and threaten their customers like $ony is.

No, as long as the firmware is 3.55 or below.
MY suggestion was an environmental tip to save on electricity, though by new you meant new, not reburished or 2nd hand.

Here is some info that seems to corroborate all of this ~

It's not a better explanation, just SKFU talking about a possible (albeit F'ed up) way to royally screw other people as usual, i.e. just like OtherOS. Goes to show that if they did to this then it proves they're out for themselves and not the scene they so profess to do it for...

I think you misread, or i have misunderstood your understanding of the post, SKFU is explaining how others could possibly abuse the PSN system/bypass bans, ive known SKFU for quite a long time and i know that anything he does, he does for the benefit of others, not for himself.

What you know of him is not knowing him personally (no different than knowing me for years on aD but not knowing me 1:1). Plus if he was so concerned why put something of that destructive caliber into others heads? Seems a bit strange to me no matter which way ya slice it...

It seems that you have been deeply offended by a "hacker", as you seem to have a dislike for them :(
We aren't all bad, we aren't all in it for the fame like GeoHot, we do what we do to help others, i don't do much in the scene, but what i do, i do for the benefit of others, i like helping people, i don't scam people either.
When it comes to knowing people Oner, i have great respect for you, but i don't really know you, i haven't ever spoken "live" to you, i don't know your real name or where you live etc, when it comes to SKFU, i know mostly everything about im, ive known him for close to four years and spoken to him live on many many occasions, regardless, all these facts are unimportant to this thread and veering it off topic.
Concerning the OP, you wont get banned, if you stop using CFW and homebrew/backups etc.

Trust me, I have nothing against hackers, crackers, modders etc. but you have to see the obviousness of what this "bypass" can do to affect others if used improperly (which we know it would). THAT is what I am not comfortable with or agree with. One is how ANY user can get screwed by someone else taking their console id and the other is about how someone who makes CFW screw over someone who uses CFW (that is the risk THEY would take, not ANYONE who is innocent should have to be subjected to in my other example). What I posted in your quote was for a different/separate topic, hopefully that clears that up.
