My ps3 will not obtain the ip adress the signal strength is fine i have redone all the settings about 20 times but still no luck when i try to test the connection it says checking ip adress and then it says failed

You can try resetting (or unplugging for a minute) your router. You can also try a wired connection; that works better anyway.
