Followed the tutorial to softmod a lu64 3.4U wii. Everything went great with the exception of the upside down HBC but a re-install took care of that. Updated to 4.1U through HBC but I havent installed the ios60 patched wad. Should I have to? Also I am very new to wii modding but I just had to try it. Do I need to use a preloader or the startpatch for safety or blocking updates?

If anyone would care to take the time to answer these few questions and perhaps let me know what I must stay on top of with updates and the do's and don'ts it would be much appreciated.

I did install USBloader, Opera, neogamma R7 as channels. Anything I am missing? Thanks Again!

Oops! Didnt see an edit button:

I did use an old xbox 360 hard drive to hook up and test out! Games load fine and I also burned wii fit on a dvd+r (I know all I had at time)to test if working and all is well through usbloader but not neogamma R7. Could be the +r though as it reads funny.

Update: Wii is a LU65, Bootmii is installed as IOS. Now running sys menu 4.1. Is it advisable to install preloader & can someone point me in the right direction for an install.

Done a whole lot of reading on a whole lot of things lol.

--- Seems pretty straight forward but sense I didnt do anything to IOS60 will this cause a corrupt sysmenu after boot? Should I have ran the IOS60 step even though I started with 3.4 then updated via 4.0 & 4.1 updater?

Thanks for the replies wiiplayer, but in larrys guide it said only apply IOS60 if on sysmenu 4.0 or 4.1. I started with 3.4 then updated after the mod. Everything is working fine right now so it doesn't appear to be missing anything. I have read that you can get a corrupt sysmenu after installing preloader but I am not sure of the circumstances.

So my question I guess is can I install preloader .30 on sysmenu 4.1 that has been updated with wannikos updater without causing errors? I just want brick protection and nand restorability at the most. Thanks again!

IOS60patch is for those that are on 4.0 or 4.1 firmware and want to play VC/WiiWare games from SD card. If you used Waninkoko 4.0/4.1 updater then I have no idea if you still need to patch IOS60 since I have never went that route.

If you want to know if IOS60Patch needs to be installed then install a VC/WiiWare game WAD to the Wii System then MOVE it to the SD Card. Now select the SD Card icon at the Wii Menu and see if you can play the VC/WiiWare game. If it says it can not play then you will need to install IOS60Patch.
