backup's not loading on d2ckey wii with 3.4U firmware

Will downgrading my firmware from 3.4U to 3.3U help me play backup on my ntsc wii with a d2ckey chip installed. The games play but during load I get a black screen that tells me "disk cannot be read consult owners manual" This never used to happen and not all games do this I'm not sure when I updated to 3.4U I am just wondering if this is the problem.
