Hello all, I partitioned my WD passport 320 GB for use with usb loader on my softmodded wii. The WBFS partition is 130gb and I have now filled it. Is there anyway to increase this size as i have nowhere to store the iso if i were to re-partition. Or can i add a second partition with WBFS manager and will Usb loader gx or configurable usb loader allow me to use both partitions

Quote from another forum.

It could be resized, but the effort needed would still be far too much.
WBFS uses cluster sizes relating to the total partition size. What this means is if you were to resize it, you'd need to increase the size of each cluster. To do that, you'd have to do something silly like make clusters in the free space, then start data juggling. That's not good for your drive, it's slow, and it's really not worth it.
Just back your games up off your drive, format and repartition it, then reload the games.

there is my problem, i dont have the space to back up, hence wondering if i could format the fat32 portion of the drive to wbfs and have both partitions as wbfs and just switch between the 2 on usb loader....or backup to dvd but that would take a lot of time as there is nearly 60 games on the existing partition

You could grab a few more gigs, if your WBFS is 130 then your other partition will be roughly 190 (minus whatever the file system takes obviously) you just just wbfs the second section and move all your games onto that half (wbfs manager can do that) then re FAT the smaller half to use whatever.

This means you are getting probably an extra 50 gigsish.

The wii will not see two wbfs drives.

Ah Haaaaaa id never thought of that nice one my friend, thankyou. However 1 more question if i may......if i were to use wbfs manager to format the 190gb, id then have 2 wbfs partitions, could i then delete the partition without having to remove the iso

Yes, just format second to wbfs, use the manager to clone the drive, once you are sure all your games are safe on the second partition then just format the first partition to FAT32, formatting will remove everything anyway.

You will get people insisting that the WBFS section needs to be the first partition, other say second, I have two drives and the wbfs is first on one and second on another and they both work exactly the same so I wouldn't stress too much about it.

ok now i done all that but when i plugged in and started loader gx it says no wbfs partition found so.....can i either
1. re format the original partition and clone the iso back to this or
2 change the larger partition(where the isos are) to the primary partition
