Is it possible to play Nintendo GameCube ISO's if I soft mod my Wii? It is the New Red Super Mario Wii. I realized I cannot use physical backups but can I have GameCube ISO's stored on a Hard Drive, along with Wii ISO's and use them both? Or should I look into Hard Modding the Wii?

Thanks

As of now there is no stable way to play GC games from a USB Loader. There was an attempt called DIOS MIOS but last time I heard the project was discontinued.

So if you have 1 of the newer Wii's then the only way to play GC games is from retail disc.

The red wii's wont take a wiikey or a drivekey? actually that is a hard mod huh? guess I forget because they just snap in. But out of curiosity do the wiikeys and drivekeys work on the new red and black wii's?

The problem is that newer wiis have drives that are physically incapable of reading burned DVD's. If you were to swap out one of those drives with an older drive model then a wiikey or drivekey would work.

As for the WODE, it claims to be able to load GC games from a USB device. But I cant confirm that from experience and don't know anyone who uses one.
