gecko os, wii 4.3u, and vc games

i am having problems trying to get gecko os to cooperate on my wii. as the title says i have a 4.3u wii. i have downloaded several copies of gecko os 1.9.3 in wad format, just the app, and the app with forwarder. on these copies i dont have the option to launch channel showing at all. i have downloaded a copy of 1.9.1 and 1.9.2 and i have the option to launch channel but when i select it i get unable to get channels. i saw on another forum when i was searching to resolve this issue i may need to update some of my ios's. i downloaded modmii and started right after after hbc is installed and still get the same result.

sorry for the ton of info but i figure more info is better than not enough. any help will be appreciated.
