Been happily hacked for a while now. Got a enclosure and HD that work great. Thing is its a 3.5 drive and enclosure and its big but my main reason for wanting to tinker with it is I want auto on and off. I figure if I switch down to one of the 2.5 enclosure that are powered by USB I wouldnt have to worry about powering on or off the drive. Anyone use that? Any input on it? Thinking about using these

RX25-AT-SC-BLK ROSEWILL
Western Digital 320 GB Black SATA II 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Notebook Hard Drive
(toss into amazon for specs, wont let me post links)

With this setup ill get auto on and off and a slim package. This way I can fit my new Wii U on the same shelf, assuming it works as I hope it will...

Look at the wii usb compatibility list (google will help)
as not all drives work with the wii, this should stop expensive mistakes

I also find this unfair because the console should have plenty of power for the hard drive but it appears that the console is lacking power.

Also a warning do not do a system transfer from a hacked wii to a wii u you will be perma banned from the nintendo wifi connection it's the new security feature of the wii u not a big deal considering why would you try to transfer from the wii to the wii u if you hacked it anyways

i now have a dead wii u because i can't do anything when it's not online man foxconn got this one good

might be not enough amperage to the usb ports. some pc's have that issue with the front usb ports.
