I have a wii whose drive is no longer working. It is running HBC, but I want to update it and run usbloader gx. Will usbloader gx run in 4.1 and lower? Or will I need to update to 4.3u somehow? Can I do the exploit through my jump drive or sd card without a physical game? Thanks.

USB loaders will work on 4.1 firmware as long as you have the proper cIOS installed. I would recommend using CFG USB Loader instead of GX.

You answered the second part of my question. maybe I sounded confused. Can I bypass the dvd drive to run either super stack or indian pwns? Because the dvd drive is broken. I stand corrected. The wii is on 4.3u, and hbc has been removed. Sorry to sound so confused. Thanks.

if you don't have a usb loader after the 4.3 update, then you need the physical disc.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

On the system menu it has a usb loader. It's not running the correct cios. Is there a way to update the cios so that I can get the usb loader to run? Appreciate the help or if you can point me in the right direction.

Since you have a USB loader forwarder installed you might be able to install HBC via that.

Download the latest Hackmii installer. Now replace the USB Loader boot.dol file with the Hackmii boot.dol file.

After you do that run the USB loader forwarder via the channel and the Hackmii installer should start. If it starts you can install the HBC. After installing the HBC you can then install the cIOS to get the softmod working again.

This option should work but may not. If it dosent then you will need to replace the DVD drive to get the game exploit option to work.

Don't forget to replace the USB Loader boot.dol file back after installing the HBC.

I just tried as you recommended, but when I run hackmii, it freezes and unable to proceed. Reset and power down a few times, but no change.
