If you are getting this error and you have all the necessary IOS files in the root of your SD card you most likely need newer trucha bug. If yours is 1.0 you need 1.1. I ran into the same problem myself when trying to mod a 4.2u wii for the 1st time.

They have the latest Trucha Bug Restorer if they are following my 4.2 softmod guide.

As for why they are having issues who knows. I am not their seeing what they are doing to be able to correct the problem. But if they follow the guide as is they shouldn't have an issue (unless it is a SD card compatibility issue).

have tried a few sd cards so dont think that the problom lies there as these cards are used on wiis all the time It comes up when loading that it is Trucha Bug Restorer 1.1 even though it does not seem to be on my sd card so unsure were it gets that info from

whats the risk if I try and follow the guide as if that part worked
ie move on to Install patched IOS36

You need to do that part in order to hack the system to install cIOS to it.

Your doing something wrong. Make sure you have properly downloaded the IOS WAD files and make sure they are the correct ones also.

The IOS files should be...

IOS15-64-v257.wad
IOS15-64-v523.wad
IOS36-64-v3351.wad

If you have to rename them after downloading them using NUS then your not downloading them properly.

That is for 4.2 firmware. make sure your on 4.2 firmware.

If your on 4.1 and below then your following the wrong fix. HERE is the fix guide for 4.1 and below firmware (the IOS files and fix files are different so make sure you replace them).

ok so have started again the system is 4.2E I dont know if it has been modded before or this is the first time .

have followed this guide http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-154/..._korean-823377/ and re downloaded the files I have used this guide before with no probs so I have got a good idea of what to do

when I try to run the hack I get the no vaunable ios message so I now go to this guide http://my.afterdawn.com/larrylje_redwings/blog_entry.cfm/4103
But when I do to download ios15 it gives an error
Any ideas were im going wrong

I have formated the sd to fat 32 and its a card that has been used before to do 4.1 and 4.2

The wii is an LEH 502
is there any more info I can provide in trying to help me sort this out
Oh yes its black if that makes a diffrence

The only issues that can be causing the problem is...

An incompatible SD card.

The IOS WAD files you downloaded did not download correctly.

If the system has WiFi you can always set that up and I think Trucha Bug Restorer will download the files automatically if you don't have them on the SD card. You might want to try that.

hi Again sorry to be a pain
But ive tried 3 diffrent sd cards all been used on wiis before 2 have been used on 4.2
have tried deleting the wads and then down loading from the NUS all seems to work ok till I get to the bit which says install the iso with low revisin then I get this error
error: ES_addtitlestart returned-1035,maybe you need an updated downgrader
Im using tucher bug 1.11

Getting same error Hackmii error "this installer can not continue!"
Using lastest version but still getting error. I used Larry's guide to upgrade to 4.1u a couple of months ago. Everything was working great until my HomeBrew went upside down. Tryed to remove and reinstall like I had done before but now I'm getting this error. I used LarryLje guide to make my SD card still have the same stuff on it. I tried to boot to Wad Manager and install IOS-30 again as suggested but I dont see it in Wad Manager. Closest thing I see is IOS31. Need to get HomeBrew installed again but don't want to do any more changes than necessary. I have mod-chip and thanks to Larrylje's guide I can now play all my games with no problems. I know I can download the IOS with NUS but not sure how to do without step by step instructions.

Hi, chaps dunno if this will help but I was having the same issue...

I put it down to the fact that I installed cIOScorp, which customizes your IOS's (all of them I believe)then upgraded to 4.2E, so when the hackmii runs it can't find a IOS to hack (please correct me if I'm wrong). I used DOP IOS to downgrade IOS 36, which gave me access back to HBC (you'll need to make the DOP IOS file the boot.dol) this won't give you full access to HBC but it give you a crack to let you do the guide. I've managed to get neogamma back on my 4.2E wii but HBC is STILL upside down - LOL

Hope this helps

PS dont go rampaging through your IOS's with DOP IOS as you WILL BRICK your wii (although if you have a back up of your NAND you will be ok)
