My wii has a wiikey original in it, and has 4.1U on it, I also did a little softmodding to it, with some Ios's and the star mod. I backed the game up and I put it in the console and it recognizes it in the menu, then i go to play it and it stays on a black screen.
I'm thinking it was a bad burn or some thing or maybe I don't have some thing right to play it. Should I just update my wii to the newest firmware and see if that fixes the problem?
Don't update through Nintendo! GH5 needs a small update to play. You need to get your hands on a copy with the update on it. It'll prompt an update and it should take only a couple of minutes do run. It will not affect your firmware # or HBC. You could rent the retail version which has the update.
One small problem. I installed starpatch and now my wii doesnt check the disc for updates, I can't figure out how to undo this just this one time so I can get it playing.
Got it thanks man, ohh also I got this DLC pack and got to the music store tried to download a few songs to play but I keep getting this error in the start of the download, any idea how to fix this?

I dont want to start another thread but I had a question. Ive looked and looked and found a few answers but nothing that ive read seems 100 percent accurate. My problem is I have a SOFTMODDED wii with 4.0 (the punch out update) and my wife bought me GH5 as a gift. When i load the disk in, it prompts me to an update. Can i safely do it without removing HBC, USB loader and backup launchers? This is what i have read so far.....
1. It will not affect HBC
2. It will remove backup launchers
3. It can only be updated if you have a wiikey (which i dont have)

Ohh hey sorry for being a doucher, all you need to do is install a wad called IOS56-64-v5146.wad to get it to work. Also Id recommend installing the starpatch. Btw google the wad I found mine on like rapidshare or soomething.
