No Signal From Wii

I was about to hit a few ball in the baseball training, then all of a sudden I got nothing but a mesh of colors on the screen. Nothing would work. I tried to turn the wii off, but it would not power down unless I held the power switch for a few seconds or disconnect the power.
When I turn it on the eject works but the blue light is NOT on ... I hear the disk spinning ... but I can't get a signal. Nothing but a black screen.
I figure there is some kind of hardware failure, but I don't know what, and I would like to find out in the hopes of getting and replacing the part myself. The wii is no longer under warranty. Can anyone help me with this problem.

The starting symptoms don't seem related to what im going to suggest, but its worth a shot. My wii went black after it fell. All I had to do was open it up and put the bluetooth piece back on its slot.
In the world of pcs, overheating would explain the issue you're having. So that's another possibility.

Hello there ... thank for posting ... the wii wasn't overheated at all. Once I get the tools I need to open and take apart the wii I will check the bluetooth and see if it is seated properly, if it is ... then it could be one of three hardware ... the bluetooth, the wifi or the motherboard fail. I'm hoping it isn't the motherboard. When I first got the wii I dropped it, but it worked fine for a couple of months, so hopefully it's just something loose. I had to order on of those tri screw drivers.
How long did it take you to dissemble the wii? Was it plain to see the piece was out of it's slot?
I will post my findings after I've had a look inside.

Use google for a decent step by step taking your wii to pieces, there are a few, most tell you what each part is - makes things easier

Well sir ... once I got my screwdriver and had a look inside, I saw nothing wrong. The bluetooth and the wi-fi were properly seated. I ordered a bluetooth from ebay for under $7 installed it, got the same results ... the wi-fi would have cost me another $15 to the door from ebay, but I was worried it would not solve the problem.
So I decided to bid on a wii console that wasn't working. That way I'd have all the parts I need to get the wii going again. I won the bid and got the wii for under $16 to the door. This wii had a bad drive so instead of replace the wi-fi in the one I had to see if it worked ... I replaced the drive in it with the one with no signal. And there you have it. Working wii again :) I also got some more channels ... don't know what they do, but I have more of them.
Oh and I got rid of all those tri wing screws, they strip pretty easy and only cause problems.
With the research I did on the black screen of death, it was suppose to be either the bluetooth, wi-fi, motherboard or a corrupt NAND.
It was easier to replace the drive than try and figure out which part it needed for the BSOD problem. Therefore I still don't know what the problem was but the main point is I have a working wii again. For those looking for a solution to the orginal problem sorry, but it did boil down to those four possibilities.

It most probably is your Wii's motherboard.
It cannot be the NAN as that would a software problem and it only happens if you install a BAD IOS or a faulty IOS or the wrong IOS.
You said you replaced the bluetooth and wi-fi and it didn't fix the problem so you can be asured that is not your problem.
I am pretty sure something happened to your motherboard when you dropped your wii. It just took a while for the problem to come up. By the look of things it would also have to do with the graphics card, as that sends signal from the Wii to the TV in order for you to get a picture. But the GFX card is inside the Motherboard so you would have to replace the whole thing.
Another thing you could test is unplugging everything, even the power cables (have no electricity going through the wii or cables), leave it for about 1 hr and then plug it back in and test it.
I have fixed a lot of problems, USB not working, FAN not working, Black outs, like this.
It might not help but then again it might.
Could be an overheating problem like it was mentioned before, but this would be just a temporary fix as it will happen again in the future.

Before I when the hardware route I did do the unplug everything ... didn't work. It never over heated ... when it went out it was not hot at all.

Overheating doesn't necessarily mean it will make ur wii hot... It could have just be inside the motherboard not necesarily the whole wii. Also you might have cracked the circuitry board or a soldering might have moved, a whole bunch of things could have happened with that fall :P
