I did all this and Other M still won't work LOL :
01. Updated WiiKey to firmware 1.99 beta
02. Ran the update from "Wii Music", 3.3u
03. installed "BannerBomb V1"
04. then installed HomeBrew Channel 0.8
05. installed BootMii
06. Installed several WAD files like mario games and NeoGamma
07. NeoGamma asked for IOS249 so I installed it
08. Installed HackMii which includes and update for homebrew channel and
BootMii
09. made a NAND backup in case of brick
Now I am following this guide :
http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/66601-4-3-softmod-guide.html
10. Following the guide above, I installed these 26 WAD files :

lol that`s way too much unecessary crap to install just to play Metroid- M lol
First of all mate...don`t do all that crap the guy up above me has said as you are bound to screw something up and then u will brick your wii.
Secondly could you tell us a little bit about your problem....
as like does it go on a black screen, gives you an error, loads to the main screen but doesnt go after that ect.
That will help us to narrow it down as what the problem is.
I do suggest though you upgrade to at least 4.1 as most new games these days work better (meaning you when you upgrade some IOS are installed automatically which are used in new games these days).

Thanks for chiming in :)
I am at 4.1u system software with DarkCorp 1.1
When I launch the Other M disk, it gives a disk error. But maybe the disk is actually burned wrong ? I am out of dual-layer disks so maybe I should try again but with a USB hard drive. I'll need to find a guide that explains how to do that, I've heard of it but I still use DVD-R disks.

Oic well for DVD problems is a little more difficult to try and figure out from here, but as you said might be a bad burn. If it was a black screen or freezing at the intro then it would mean you just need to install a certain IOS it needs (like I did and most people did) in order to play the game.
But there is many video guides on youtube on how to softmod you wii. Just look up how to softmod you wii on youtube and you will get alot of videos telling you and showing you how to do it.

Resolved :)
WiiKey 1 can play Other M
I did all of this :
-------------------------------------------------------
01. Updated WiiKey to firmware 1.99 beta
02. Installed system update 3.3u
03. installed "BannerBomb V1"
04. then installed HomeBrew Channel 0.8
05. installed BootMii
06. Installed several WAD files like mario games and NeoGamma
07. NeoGamma asked for IOS249 so I installed it
08. Installed HackMii which includes and update for homebrew channel and BootMii
09. made a NAND backup in case of brick
Now I am following this guide :
http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/66601-4-3-softmod-guide.html
10. Following the guide above, I installed these 25 WAD files :
1OS236.wad
cIOS11-v6174-TED.wad
cIOS16-v257.wad
cIOS20-v6174-TED.wad
cIOS202[60]-v5.1.wad
cIOS222[38]-v4.wad
cIOS223[37-38]-v4.wad
cIOS224[57]-v5.1.wad
cIOS247[37]-v20.wad
cIOS248[56]-v20.wad
cIOS249[38]-v17.wad
cIOS250[57]-v20.wad
cIOS30-v6174-TED.wad
cIOS36-v3094-TEND.wad
cIOS50-v4889-TED.wad
cIOS60-v6174-TED.wad
cIOS70-v6174-TED.wad
cIOS80-v6174-TED.wad
cIOS9-v6174-TED.wad
cIOS90-v6174-TED.wad
cmios-v4_WiiGator_GCBL_v0.2.wad
LoadMii.wad
USBLoaderCFG_Forwarder-UCXF.wad
11. Installed system update 4.1u
12. Installed Priiloader 0.4
I used it to :
Block Disk Updates
Block Online Updates
Auto-press A at health screen
No system menu background music
13. Installed DARKCORP v1.1 full
This replaces the usual disk channel with a softmod :) Now you can use the disk channel rather than NeoGamma for most things.
14. Installed Waninkoko's cmios for gc-games
... but it didn't work. Neogamma can run GC games
15. Installed NeoGamma R8 RC3 - NGR8 (auto).wad
16. Installed "WAD Manager v1.7 (Wii Channel)"
17. Now I am trying to get games to load from a USB hard drive. I assembled a 300 GB hard drive enclosure with an internal fan. I installed "WBFS Manager 2.5" on my computer and used it to format the drive to WBFS (as opposed to FAT or NTFS) and I used the program to load some game ISOs from my computer to it.
18. I installed USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder.wad hoping it could use the USB hard drive
... it didn't work...
USBLoaderCFG_Forwarder-UCXF.wad was already present and also did not work...
..But NeoGamma can use the hard drive :)
To use the hard drive, load NeoGamma with no disk in the DVD drive, and with the USB hard drive connected and powered on (of course). Then when NeoGamma starts it will look at the DVD drive, seeing nothing it will give you a menu. From the menu change the top to USB, mount the drive, then you can choose any game on there by title. Metroid other M was tested and worked :)

It only took about an hour once I had everything downloaded and had my NAND backup made :)
MMM can batch install WADs, so I did not have to install them one at a time :)

you could've easily bypass manual wad installs by using dop-mii to install/update any IOSes.
and darkcorp is completely unnecessary since you're using configurable usb loader. you just need to have the appropriate usbloader folder on either the SD card or FAT32 partition of the drive. THEN the forwarder will work.

got a whole lot more to list . . .

Oh man, all that work and the game isn't very good LOL
Our favorite female bounty hunter, Samus.
For over 20 years she's been kicking space-pirate ass and taking names.
Now in her first "talkie", the Ninja Gaiden team relegated her to being a "tween" with daddy issues.
It's a disgrace to one of the greatest video game series ever (shakes fist)
I beat the original 8-bit Metroid and was looking forward to this installment for a long time LOL
Oh well, we'll see who makes the next Metroid :)

OK, I got USB loader working :)
I get it now, the channel simply loads the content on the SD card. This saves a step from loading Homebrew Channel first.

it's not just that. the forwarder channel is set to look for usb loader at a specific location. priority is given to the SD card first. if none is located, it will search for a FAT32 partitioned hard drive for the loader.
the way i setup is so that configurable usb loader and all the games are on the same hard drive, so it's easily transportable and does not need to rely on the SD card.

I don't mind it relying on the SD card :) And the HDD is formatted to WBFS.
As for my review of "Metroid Other M" - well the game itself is good, but the cinematics are ridiculous. If I could find a copy that has had all the movies ripped I'd like it :)
OK, have fun!

Samus' personality in "Other M" ... I thought more about it. I think after years of ass-kicking she'd be more like Sigourney Weaver in Aliens 3, super tough :)

In other news, I discovered how to power a hard drive using the Wii rather than using an AC adapter. This information can be handy for those using an AC adapter to power their USB hard drives and getting static on their TVs (RF interference). There is a product called Nyko Intercooler for Wii. It has a pass-through power connector that uses the Wii's power plug to power a small fan. The two wires running to the fan are 12v pos and ground with enough juice to power a USB to SATA adapter and a 3.5" WD Caviar Green hard drive. Mine is 640 gigabytes and powered right off the Wii. This is possible because inside the Nyko Intercooler is a little board, I think it steps up the current, the result is good :)
That's a WD Caviar Green drive and the SATA to USB board from an enclosure. I have white electrical tape covering a lot of it but I am going to build another one soon. I can write instructions if anyone is unsure how I did it.
This solves the static problem and it's cheap and easy to do :) You just need the USB enclosure you probably already have, a soldering iron, a multimeter, and a Nyko Intercooler fan :)
Cheers,
Craig
