Which kind of contradicts what you just said because you just said you didn't want to read the crap I wrote but then you go and say you typed what I said in three lines of less LMAO. So which one it is?!?! ^ ^

Dude stop your crying... if you bothered to read properly and not be such a grumpy bum then you would see that wyattspot needs a lot of explaining to be able to learn what to do (which he doesn't seem to mind and is more than appreciative off) and also I explain many things at a time that he asks about instead of being a moron and post every 5 seconds for every question he asks. So please before you start flaming people, take a breather, have a cup of coffee and read the posts.

Plus wyattspot.... I'm confused as you say this HDD is WBFS formated .... how can it be if you say that it doesn't ask you "Do you want to format it" when you plugg it into your laptop?? If the HDD is formated as a WBFS then the computer wont be able to read the HDD and ask to format it. Also on WBFS you can transfer the games from one HDD to another. Either all at the same times or only the ones you want.
I did that just about a month ago (but mind you for about 285 games it took like 16 hrs) so be ware ^ ^
I see how that's confusing Brother, when I turn on my Wii to play, I then have to select Neogamma 8 beta15 and hit "start", it goes to a menu and my choices are DVD or "Press A to mount WBFS" To get to my games, that's the one I select so naturally I assumed my HDD is WBFS, unless of course that's just Neogamma's default menu listing for the "usb" game loading option. Would you like me to slap my HDD on my lappie and tell you what I see? Pretty sure it's just gonna be the 65 movies and not a single other viewable file...Did you say 16 hours? Agghh. May I PM you?

Sorry, you already explained I wouldn't be able to view WBFS game ISO's when wired to my lappie, reading is fundamental! My bad.

You need a nickname with that handle, so "BG" it is. So Beej, before I open this can of worms, is there a guide for loading games from one HD to another? Will I be putting them on my lappie and then moving them to Pop's 320gig HDD or sort of laying them on the WBFS and moving them over? I ask because I won't be doing a complete transfer obviously, a 1 terabyte to a 320 gig won't work of course and I'm sure Pop would only want 50 of the 400 I have, plus Wyatt's faves for when he visits Grandpa. In case I didn't express it adequately, I'm very grateful for your patience and your time. It's more than uncommon in this day and age to find such selfless people like you. You have my word, I've scanned tons of web pages and 50+ youtube videos on the topic before raising the white flag
Cheers

One more, you know my unsolved inability to extract an ISO image from a rar file collection? I found tons of folks on every site including this one, and have yet to find one with a resolve. The only common denominator I'm able to gleam is many think it's due to the way our systems are associating ISO's. They all know how to extract rar files as I do, but the result is another rar file, on a positive note, it does combine and make 1 file. If you right click on that file, it does have iso in the "properties" title, but it's still ultimately a rar. I'm going to continue the fight looking in that direction.

Wyattspop just a word of warning, posting multiple times is not allowed, as it's in the rules and if you keep doing it you will be banned (It's also annoying).
So just post all you need in one or else just post and then re-edit the post if you want to add something to it.
As for your HDD being an WBFS I'm stumped .... maybe tongs can share some light as to how the heck you are able to load it from neogamma as I thought it was only for DVDs and USB sticks. Unless the newer version of Neogamma let's you mount HDDs (I have lot used Neogamma for years).
Also you mentioned about having not having homebrew on your laptop. I think you are little confused my friend. The only place you have homebrew (which means programs to run the HHDs or DVDs on your wii) is on the SD card that you put on your wii and that's it.

Sorry, I guess I don't know the difference, I don't think I started a new thread, just continued the line of questions for a problem I still haven't found a solution to in the same thread, am I mistaken? I'm working on 2 separate issues, the ISO and the HDD to HDD transfer, and I only have two threads, one for each. So what would be my "multiple items"? One line of questions for the ISO = 1 thread/One line of questions for my HDD transfer = 1 thread, total of 2 threads. Please explain, I don't want to violate any rules.

In Neo you can choose DVD, USB or SD/SDHC as your 3 choices, my HDD is plugged into one of the Wii's USB ports so that's how I access my games, USB. What I meant about Homebrew not being on my lappie, I should have said I don't have any of the proggies loaded on my computer since I contracted someone to do my mod, so I don't have any of the apps or ability to update firmware, etc till I download it. Pretty sure I said that right.

to be honest you dont need homebrew to play any games as long as neogamma is installed as a wad which i think it is so dont worry about. Just do as i said earlier mate with wbfs and take a game from one hd make it to an iso with wbfs shot that on ya desktop then plug the oher hdd in and convert it back to wbfs using wbfs. You try to solve to many issues mate and some dont even have part in what your trying to do.

I see, thanks. Yes, I have all the stuff you said on my homebrew channel too, I.wad, wii dumper, j loader, m player, bootmii too. I used m player to play DVD's on my wii, but for the life of me I couldn't find where he loaded all those movies I can see on the HDD and I searched all over m player.
Hey, whenever I click on homebrew it asks me if I want to update to 1.0.8 from 1.0., even if you don't want me to update, can I do it just to get rid of the annoying message? and if so, do I disconnect from my wii and do that with the HDD hooked up to my PC or is it safe to do still connected to my wii since it's only a homebrew update and not a wii update? I don't have a N adapter hooked up to my wii so I don't think it'll work that way anyhow (my wii won't be capable of wireless internet without the N adapter and I don't have a phone line or ethernet cable plugged into my wii)
Thanks Goomba

Just type everything you want to type on one post and then if you need to add something then press edit. :)

Why does he need to go through all those steps to copy it into the other HDD when he can do it straight from WBFS program!??!
Just open WBFS Program, plug both HDDs then copy the games from HDD to the other and thats it. :)

Mate I don't get what your saying :( you saying it says to update Homebrew?! u mean the Homebrew Channel?!?! If so do it. But then you saying that you have no internet connection?!? No ethernet, no wireless so how the heck are you getting internet connection to your wii when you say you have no connection for internet plugged to your wii lol?!?! Don't get it.
Also I think you are getting confused all over the place?!? When you do the update... it's all done on the wii , you don't need your PC or to plug your HDD to the PC. Updates that are asked to be done on the wii are (ONLY FOR THE WII) you don't need a PC or anything else.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know about the "edit" option, thanks. Tell you what though, apparently I'm not the only one who can't "right-click" on a flippin' Rar file/extract here and not instantly get an ISO image to burn...the longer I deal with this, the more I see how many have had this problem. I can show you dozens of articles, posts and vids splashed all over the internet from people who have/had the exact same issue, not one site I found has a resolve, not one. Say what you will about my limited homebrew skills, but what I can't do is shared by many and not one post has solved it, anywhere, not the collective knowledge of the good people of Afterdawn, Youtube, Toms and many other notable places. The nearest I can figure from almost 2 weeks of work is it's an issue of association, either the users own PC settings has certain files associated that deal with Winrar, Imgburn and how they deal with ISO's. You can't throw them at any shareware/freeware I've found like MagicISO, PowerISO etc since those proggies have a 300MB max for trials (no game file is small enough), what I've hypothisized is while trying to solve this problem, people like me loaded up some proggies trying to do a backup and those proggies changed our default association settings. I'll continue the search till I find it or someone reads the post and gives me something besides, "dude, just right click and extract". I never quit, some folks will appreciate that when I figure it out. Cheers Mate

Whatever dude, was just trying to help. Like I said, you're both adding a lot of unneeded information, I sifted through the bullshit of your message, Vato, and summarized what I thought he actually needed. Also, I added shit you didn't ask, I'm just trying to help dude out, you don't have to be a douche about it. Who died and made you king of the forums?

I'm curious Wyatt, where are you from?

Just so you guys know, you don't have to include the previous post every frickin time, it gets really annoying scrolling through all that crap. And to the idiot who suggested extracting .iso to the desktop, you're an idiot, that's a complete waste of time. Drive to drive is soooo much easier.

I'm very, very grateful for all your help Wiisel, I hope you know that, I also hope you recognize none of my disparaging remarks were directed at you, I was defending myself from someone who has a penchant for making newbies feel small by slamming me and parroting the same instructions I'd tried over and over exactly as instructed, then when that failed, I was "stupid". It wasn't until I got serious about my own problem and put in the search time to fix it on my own that I found a resolve. If not for your help pointing me to different possibilities and other kind people here, I'd still be tossing discs in the trash, so thank you Wiisel and all those who gave so freely, I'd return the favor anytime. I will now post the answer for others to see. Have a great evening, my son is enjoying his first game thanks to you.
Oh, and Wyatt is my son, henceforth Wyattspoppa, I am from sunny Southern California

Tongman, I made a perfect game disc finally, so thank you most of all for your tireless help. Amazingly enough it did have to do with my file associations as I'd imagined, certainly compounded and made harder to solve by downloading ISO proggies that kept taking over my file associations. Every time we got near a resolve, MagicISO, PowerISO or whatever would make it impossible to extract an ISO from rar, it just kept making more rars! I'm going to post the entire solution here for all to see, but thank you for your generosity, wish we lived close by, I'd buy you a beer and hit myself over the head with the empty bottle!
Cheers Mate

THIS IS THE ANSWER HOW TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE OF USERS WHO ATTEMPT TO EXTRACT AN ISO FROM A RAR FILE AND JUST KEEP GETTING ANOTHER RAR FILE/FILES. Administrators/Seniors, if I haven't done this by some protocol, please feel free to remove it or adjust it, I'm just an amateur sharing what I've learned and don't want to cross any lines. I want to preface this by saying I spent the better part of 2 weeks working on this, along with several very good guys on the AD boards who were very patient with me through one failed attempt after another. This is by no means a guarantee to fix your problem, but I will tell you I spent literally no less than 50 hours of trial and error, but like Thomas Edison once said when asked about how many times he failed to make a lightbulb "I didn't fail, I simply found 200 ways how not to make a lightbulb". I am posting this because I never found an answer on the literally dozens of internet postings, several specialty websites like AD, maybe 50 Youtube videos and hundreds of posts on said websites. I never found the answer anywhere. The answer lies in your file associations, if you don't know it's "start/default programs/set your default programs/winrar archives and choose defaults for this program. No matter what you have the other files associated with, (the default will be all 22 as rar of course) you want ISO AKA Image File to be unchecked. I had mine associated with Imgburn. Hit save. Now go to Imgburn/choose default programs/ISO AKA Image File should be associated with Imgburn, box should be checked. Lastly, download this very small freeware app. http://alexfeinman.com/download/ISORecorderV2RC1.msi
Not only does it take zero skill to use as it runs in the background,(it's excecutable) but it does many of the things the previously mentioned proggies like Magic and PowerISO do without having to study a tutorial you won't understand anyway. Well maybe you will if you have 3 days to learn how they work, me, I've got a family! Besides, you'd have to buy them since the trial size is 300 MB, how many ISO's do you find that are under 300 MB? There goes that plan! The rar files I extracted that made one big rar file was now a big ISO file, already associated with Imgburn, I tossed the disc in, hit burn and done. Popped it into my Wii and had my backup ready to play. As the boys said, I didn't have to do a thing once I had the ISO, didn't have to adjust my region settings even though I think the file was a PAL and I'm NTSC. Think that about covers it, if I can answer any questions feel free to ask, remember, I'm a total Noob just like many of you who will seek this answer, but I'll offer any information I learned and help whenever I can, just like the good fellas who helped me find my way. Happy ISO Day

I asked, because you remind me of another person I've helped, thought maybe you were him.
I bet it was me, I recognized your username...now take off work and come fix my Wii (heh heh)
Any big plans this weekend? I've got Disneyland with my boy tomorrow and the Yanks are in town to play the Angels (I grew up in the Bronx 3 miles from Yankee Stadium)

Also, I added shit you didn't ask, I'm just trying to help dude out, you don't have to be a douche about it. Who died and made you king of the forums?

You on the other hand have brought nothing to this thread apart from writing what has already been suggested as you dont read. So you cant read. You have brought nothing at all to this thread that hasnt already been said. So youve just wasted your own time. Who is the idiot then? Lol

I came back to share how I fixed it as you are supposed to, not that it's any of your damn business. It's common courtesy, something your parents failed dismally to teach you anything about. Normally I pride myself on being fairly eloquent, but not today.
You pushed too far so just STFU.
