Have been running an older 2009 version of CFGUSB Loader since Dec 2009 with a portable Seagate 160 GB HD. The wii is hard moded with a chip. No issues until recently when running a new Wii game CD disk. Since then, CFG USB does not load.

I followed the current posts on-line & formatted SD & HD drives & reinstalled ModWii (excellent program) on 2GBSD & 160GBHD. Followed instructions & made it through the Indiana Jones Lego program along will all the patching. etc.

Wii starts up with no issue with the USB loader icon. CFG V70 249 displays ok. Then mounting device, folowed by Device is not responding..... Yes, I am connected to the correct USB port 0 nearest the edge of the Wii.

Any thoughts on what is wrong & how to fix it?
Wii CD disks work fine today.

Format your device to fat32, try loading cfg on 222 (in main settings) does the HDD load then.

Thanks for your help in resolving this issue!

I have already formatted the Seagate portable 160GB HD to FAT32 twice with no success. Also reformatted the 2GB SD card to FAT32 twice.

Tried reloading Wii Mod V3.0 yeaterday with no errors. Issue when pressing the CFGload icon today is "searching for config.txt" - USB Mass Storage Device - USB is not responding.

Today, I followed your diretion by loading Wii Mod V3.0 - Change IOS - current 58 to 222. The screen displayed "current IOS 222V4 AHBPROT enabled. Then tried to load CFG with a frozed screen. Did I do this 222 load correctly? If not, please provide me the correct steps?

The 160GB HD (used for the past year with no issues) root directory has the following folders: apps, system volume information, recycled, usb-loader (where config.txt resides) & wbfs.

Do you believe that this issue is a Wii, SD or HD issue?

My preference would be to resolve this USB Config (ModWii) programing issue as this backup software has been running for over a year with no issues with my system. Thanks!

Need directions on loading CFG on IOS 222 (computer or Wii).

In cfg settings (on the wii) you can set the cios the loader runs on, each base (56,57) and the two versions hermes (usually 222,223 etc) and waninkoko (d2x) at 249, 250 etc have slightly different compatibility.

Kittymat, thanks for your ongoing help!
I am unable to locate the cfg settings when turning on the Wii.
Upon starting the Wii, I have the following options: Neogamma, Configurable USB Loader, Wii & Homebrew options. In the homebrew options, I have the following options: Mymenuifymod, Priiloader, Wii Mod V 3.0 & Hackmi-Installer.

Can you please point me in the right direction to change from 256 to 222?
Please explain the (56,57) base as I am new at this or point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

The easiest way is to download the 222 version, fing the homepage for cfg loader (google will help) there will be 2 download options 249 and 222, download the 222 version and replace the 249 - see if this helps your HDD to be seen. With 222 (infact any hermes cios) you cannot run ios reload games, you will have to use the alt.dol method
