Wii USB HDD - will a 2.5" portable HDD work?

Just wondered whether a wii can boot games from a 2.5" external HDD which does not have a separate power supply?

If so any good reccomendations?

You shouldn't have a problem, I've seen it done before, but the Wii is picky. Here is a list of compatible drives. Obviously not everything is listed, but it might help.
