wiikey fusion problems

first i have checked the dip switch settings and all cables. what the problem is when i boot up the wii with wiikey and disc drive attatched the drive and the chip will not power on. if i try to play a game from usb loader or shop channel game it will start to load and then tell me to eject disc. if i start up the wii with just the chip it appears to work. the disc channel will show it has a gamecube game in it and all the other ways of playing games work. but when i open the disc channel it does load up the wiikey screen and i can go into the config menu but when i try to launch a wii game it goes to an error screen and wont do anything until i pull the power cord and plug it back in. another troubling thing is i got the chip from modchipcentral which is a official reseller and i have bought from them in the past without issues but when i try to download a update from the wiikey site it asks for a serial number. i have verified the serial number on the chip itself and from the wiikey screen on the tv, the both match but when i enter it on the wiikey site it tells me invalid serial number. any ideas, thoughts or suggestions would be helpful at this point.
