Does anyone know how to correct the problem for the wiimote turning itself on and off during play on the new super mario brothers game? I just noticed it maybe 20 minutes ago. It is only happening on one wiimote and it is fully charged. Thanks.

I'm playing my back up. This is the first time that it has occurred. Not sure if it happens on other games, but it happened with New Super Mario Brothers. The only csio I installed was 249.

I am using rechargeable batteries with charge station. I purchased them about 3 months ago and it only happens when I am playing New Super Mario Brothers. Not sure if it's the batteries themselves, but I went ahead and reinstalled all of my wads through wadmanager. Hopefully it will correct it. Not sure though. Using CSIO 249 v17. According to MMM, it was running 346 v54321. It only happens to one of the wiimotes and shuts off every couple of minutes.

I have tried a new wii mote from Target and it also couldn't sync with my wii. I did the method that was recommended by Nintendo. That worked for a while but then failed. Not sure why my wii mote isn't being consistent. By the way, where can I download the updates?

Update: I cleared the remotes from the WII's memory by holding in the SYNC button for 15 seconds. I was able to SYNC the remotes to the WII, however, after about 20 minutes, the remote would disconnect and only 2 of the 4 lights blink. Player 1 and 2 only. Tried syncing the remotes again and after 2 minutes it disconnects. Does the 2 blinking lights refer to an error code?

I have had this problem before and what I found it to be was the GAY ASS BATTERIES. Sometimes you buy cheap ass batteries that don't hold for long or make ur Wii mote tell you there is a lot of power left in them but in fact there isn't and then you get the Sync problems. I say put in new batteries and try again. This should solve your problems. It did for me :)

I tried with Energizer batteries and I still have sync issues. I currently use Energizer rechargeable batteries with charge station. Guess I'll go back to regular batteries instead of the rechargeable ones. Sucks.

Yeh man might just be that the rechargable are sucking balls now. I have had probs with rechargable also but on other equipment not the Wii. But this was after using them for a while.
Try fresh new ones and see how it goes.

hey guys,
a friend of mine haves this kind of problem... he was using some normal AA duracell batteries (wich says do not recharge) and he recharged them "unawarely" like 3 or more times... it worked good, without problems at first and it always shows 4 blinkin dots (even right now) but then this shut OFF & ON problem started very quick, it made the
(-) and HOME buttons shut the remote OFF each time he holded them too long or pressed it too many times, and the A+B to turn the remote ON again or the remote turns itself ON when it contacts the sensor bar... WTF? i'm not joking -.-'!
anyway i lended him my recently bought Duracell AA pair to play some mh3 online together and if he holds or presses the (-) or HOME button too many times his controller shuts OFF and turns ON again not only in mh3 also on the HOME Screen + WiiWare and other games... however on his other remote wich he never uses this does'nt happen... so we are kinda sure the "not rechargeable" AA duracell screwed his remote, of course i advise everyone not to try this at home... any other suggestens excluding buying a other wii remote ??
