Will someone else's modded wii files work on my wii?

The external hard drive that all of my modded Wii files were on was formatted, and I stupidly didn't back them up. My friend has a modded wii aswell, so if I copy his files to my hard drive, will everything work properly?

I guess that depends on if you were using the same software with the same forwarders or programs in the same saved location

It depends on your console's firmware (e.g Your friend may have 4.1 Files, you may need 4.3 files). What files are you in need of? You can probably find them again easily on the net.
