Hi everybody.
I am new to the forum and was directed to this topic because of the advrcntr2.dll error i have receiving after uninstalling nero burning software. I have gone through the nero discussion thread and found that the only answer wholheartedly supported was by aradhana where she has given a step by step instruction of how to get rid of the error. But in the process i have noticed that the error came about in the first place because somebody wanted to unistall nero product. What aradhana's answer did was to reinstall the nero product back. So i feel her answer is not all correct. The correct answer is as follows:
1. Go to C:/Windows/System32 and search for the file: Advrcntr2.dll
2. Once you find it just delete it.
3. Now you want be getting that error window again.
P.S: - I have tried this out myself after searching the internet and can vouch for the result. Go ahead and try it yourself and let me know the result.
The source of the error was that a copy of this file is present in the windows/system32 folder and whenever windows explorer comes across a video file the .dll file in system32 searches for the advrcntrl2.dll file in the Ahead folder and not finding it there gives out an error message.
