Using Nero, preserving chapters in MKV file?

To maintain quality, I use Nero to burn a data file for my MKV files (some blu ray rips mostly) but find that although the MKV file might initially have chapters, the chapters disappear when Nero has burnt the file to a DVD.
IS there a way to preserve chapters in an MKV file when burning as a data file? I can convert to DVD format using Convert X to DVD and build new chapters that way, but of course I'll lose the full MKV resolution. Anyone found a way around this?
