I understand how to re-encode .mkv to .avi/.mkv, to hardsub.
I know how to use mkvtoolnix and MEgui and AVIsynth.
Anyway, what I would like to know is how to re-encode the .mkv to .mkv without losing any quality. Is there an option in MEgui or the AVIsynth maker (in MEgui) that I can select to keep everything the same? I know I can adjust the bitrate to improve quality but it seems to make the file size (sometimes) a lot bigger with sharp picture quality and it just looks ugly.
I really just want to keep it about the same, +/-10mb of the original. :P
I know that's way too picky but I'm intending to keep what I'm reencoding for a while (lol, anime) and also for playing it on my WD TV HD LIVE PLUS, which doesn't support .ass sub extension.... :P So yeah, if you could help me out, please do.(:
