Hello. I recently extracted a sub file from an mkv file using MKVtoolnix. then I opened Subresync to convert it to an srt file, but when I open the sub file, it crashes. I don't have IE8 and have uninstalled Internet Explorer completely. Do I need to reinstall it in order to use Subresync? Is there another program I can use to convert sub to srt? I tried Subrip but for some reason, it can't detect the end of one frame and the start of another. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the advice. I gave it a go, but I got an error message saying that it was a bad subtitle file or it was an unsupported format. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

Why did you extract the subtitle from the MKV? What do you plan to do?

I want to use avi2dvd to convert it to a standard DVD. I originally bought total MKV to DVD to try and accomplish this, but the subtitles were cut off at the end. I also encountered some other crashing problems with different files, so now I'm attempting to use avi2dvd which only accepts .srt files.

There are a few types of subtitles that have the .sub extension...upload them to MediaFire so we can have a look at them.

You must've not copied the entire key, the link is not valid.

The subtitle was kinda bad. I tried SubResync, it opened it and worked for a while, but then it crashed towards the end.

I used Avidemux to convert it to an SRT, and towards the end the images became un-readable. It saved a good part of it. Try and see how it works:

That fixed it completely! Thank you so much! So avidemux was able to salvage it?

Thanks again! I owe you one.

none of the subtitles were missing. They were all there after I checked it with the mkv. Thanks!
