I have scoured the net, trying to find someone with my exact problem or an easy tutorial, but alas, I have failed.

Okay, my problem is a bit of a confusing one, but here goes.

So I have several shows I've been trying to burn to dvds with this converter with a free reg code I found, Aimersoft Ultimate.
Everything works fine with AVI files that come with subs, I can just convert to a slightly lower quality and burn. Somehow that works.

The problem arises when I try to burn MKV with subtitles.

These mkv files all have subtitles with them, which I can enable or disable in VLC. They're .ass format, and they don't show up as seperate files but rather part of the video. I want to say they're hardsubbed.
The Aimersoft converter doesn't pull the subtitles with it for conversion at all, and another converter I've tried, FreeMKV, only pulls some of the subtitles with it; It only brings the subtitles in a really basic font, and ignores some of the more complex fonts. This is a problem.

I'm pretty new to this whole process, but I'd like to find some way to convert the MKV file to VOB without losing the unique subtitles, and I am willing to sacrifice some of the video quality to do so.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
