30GB iPod Classic will not play video. All other functions are ok

So my iPod refuses to play video at all. If I hold the next/skip forward button, it skips through the video properly, I can see stills of the video and hear the skipped audio. However it then stops when I release the button. I did the 5 R's that apple wants and also played with each of the video settings. Ironically enough, even with the tv out is set to on, it still won't progress through the video. I even checked to see if it was the file and bought an episode of House through iTunes and it STILL won't play. Help me Obi Won Kenobi, you're my only hope ;)
