Hey,

To replace your iPod Touch you will need:

(1) Replacement Battery
(1) Soldering Iron
(1) Solder Iron Tip (small and acurate good.)

Optional:

(1) Desolder Wick (used to get old solder off of motherboard connections)
(1) Solder

How to:

Simply watch some videos on youtube, and get it apart. Once you get to the battery, you need to desolder it. Start at one end, and pull the ribon (or cables) off as you melt the solder connections. (Optional) Remove the solder on the pads with your solder wick. Put your Iron on the braid, and wait a few seconds, then slide it across the pad, removing the solder. Next, place your new battery and light it up. Using a safe pry tool, you can hold the ribon (or cables) in place while you solder the connections back on. (You can also tape it. (Optional) Once you have the connections soldered onto the mainboard, with your solder in one hand, and your iron in the other, quickly touch the solder with the iron while on one of the pads (or wire) so that it makes a good connection. You should be good to go after this.

WARNING:

Do NOT leave the solder iron on the solder pads for more than a few seconds. They may come off the mainboard. This is a destroyed iPod then without a replacement.

Good Luck!
