My Ipod touch wont back up my music library

Hi,

I have searched the forums and am having no luck finding what I need.

There are several ipod users in my family and I have selected "Manually manage music" on all of these units because I figured that this was the best way to prevent syncing against each others ipods and messing with individual music librarys. Problem is that my I want to copy music & videos from my sons ipod to my ipod so that I can take his into an Apple store for repairs.

I have restored my ipod to original factory settings, then removed it.

I then connecetd my sons ipod to itunes and allowed it to back up and sync, then removed it.

I then reattached my "factory restored" ipod to itunes, and selected to restore with my sons latest backup. Everything but music and videos has worked. His photos, apps etc have all transferred to my ipod, but no music and no videos. I assume that this has something to do with the original setting selection of "manage music manually".

Any suggestions?
