Ok so I got a Acer Aspire 5920 that im trying to fix for a friend, the computer is junk unless I can get a full system restore is but the problem is it doesnt work from the boot and the system restore from the control panel. says that it isnt there or something, tried a vista recovery disc and it said it was missing something so idk what to do next, I cant find a recovery disk for one anywhere.

Your Acer should have a sticker on it that says what Windows came loaded on it and have the installation code. All you have to do is find any Vista Installation disc, borrow it or even download it from a p2p site. Install with the installation code and your good.

Seconded. I often do this, because I hate the pre-loaded crapware that new computers come with. A clean install is fantastic. Just make sure to visit the Acer site to get all the drivers for your comp.

then get the updated drivers from the different chipset manufacturers.
