I attempted to upgrade Vista to windows 7 and came up with the above error code.It seems that this is a common problem to which no one really seems to have resolved easily.I tried some of the simple suggestions without success & got no help from the supplier of the upgrade disk [dell].In despiration I tried reinstalling several times and then noticed that each time a little more of the programme was installed & then amazingly after 5 attempts the update complete & windows 7 is,as I write working perfectly.So do not dispair.
