Hi,

Here's the thing. i dropped my lacie 1tb ex hdd ON MY BED and now it isnt working anymore i have looked everywhere on how to fix it but non of the "inet ideas" worked for me.

i almost threw it away but then my brother walked in and i explained everything and he said there is still one way that might work and that is to build my ex hdd into my computer and then it will become an int hdd and it MIGHT just have my files still on it. He said he will do it for me no problemo.

Well you know brothers 2 weeks later still nothing thats why i thought maby someone has a tut on how to do these things so I can do it MYSELF.

I really hope someone can help me.

What are the symptoms?

Won't power up? (no power light)

Computer won't recognize hard drive?

Youe english is better than a lot of the "native English" speakers on this site.

Take it apart.. it should be a sata hdd inside.. but mught be ide.. don't know until you get it out ..

Now for the fun bit.. They can use fat32 reiser-fs or ext3 or even some odd unix filesystem (like used by free-nas) on the drive.. I don't think they are ntfs... unless soembody formatted it that way.

All are different.. I have never seen 2 the same.. a bit like acer pc's actually.
