Your textNot too sure where to start here.

I have a Shuttle PC running XP Pro Turbo Edition SP3.

It has 2 IDE HDD's & 1 SATA.
1 of the IDE drives shows up as 2 drives when i go into my computer (C: & D:).
C: is where i've installed my games only & D: is where Windows is installed to.
The other IDE shows up as E: & is 75GB in size & is currently blank.
I also have a 150GB SATA HDD that i store all my music, films etc.

The plan was -

The first IDE is only 40GB & that was the one i wanted to use as my windows drive & hopefully install it onto C: & do away with D:
I planned to install the games to E: & keep F: as where music etc is stored.

Only problem is, my dvd drive aint working & i don't have a windows disk.
And seeing as its a Shuttle PC i wouldn't fit it all in anyway.

Now the problem gets worse.

I'm not sure where i went wrong, but i installed XP off a USB Flash drive & its now messed up my boot up options as it kept saying a file was missing. :/

After sticking at it for a while i eventually got it to boot up.

BUT.

Whenever i turn on the PC i have a choice of 3 different OS's all called XP Pro Turbo Edition SP3.

I know the top one doesn't work, but the middle choice does, even though its the bottom 1 that i use.

So the million dollar question is, how do i get it to show up as only 3 drives in my computer & remove the other 2 boot options WITHOUT a fresh install ?

I can't afford to do that as i'm on a stupid PAYG 3 Mobile Broadband USB & would cost a fortune to get everything back upto date again.

I had a look through google & it mentioned messing about with the boot.ini in msconfig, but it will make things worse knowing me.

Please help if you can & sorry for the life story lol.

Thanks

edit boot.ini because those other drives are obviously listed.. .. easy

just remove the entries you don't want.. stuff msconfig.. that's a nightmare of a thing

you can set which one is default.. and the "name" of the os is down to you.. doesn't matter what you call it so long as the path is right.

it's simple when you have done it a few times.. use notepad.. anything else will screw it up
