Is it a windows computer? What OS, XP vista? Easiest way to do it is plug the printer directly into your computer and set it up as local. Then when you get it working, you can try to set it up on the network since you'd have the driver on your computer.

Plug the printer directly into the Windows 7 computer. It will either have its own driver and work when you add the printer, or you can do a windows update while connected and it should find it.

EDIT---your post beat me by a few minutes, glad you have it sorted.

That driver says its compatible with Windows 95, Freekman had Win7. Also, he said he already tried the HP driver without luck.
