I recently reinstalled XP Pro and before I did I copied the relevant directories from the Outlook Express folder [b]D:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities[/b, to the new corresponding folder after I reinstalled XP.

Problem is that of the 6 folders I had in Outlook Express, including Inbox and Sent Items, only the emails I had in Inbox are still showing, all the emails I had in the other 5 folders, including Sent Items, do not reappear.

Is there a way of making those emails appear back in the same folders

I tried that but an error message comes up saying - No messages can be found in this folderor another application is running that has the required files open. Please try another folder or try closing applications that may have files open.

i usually copy those to a different folder so wouldn't have a problem most of the time then import the messages from that folder.

How do you mean? You have to place the files marked Inbox, Sent items etc. back into the Outlook Express folder don't you

That's how i do it too by drag n drop, however ddp i think is saying save those weird looking files to a different or made up folder & import them, not the folder but the files contained within & then the emails should show, that will only work if there were any emails in them when you originally saved them, the file size itself should show whether it has anything inside

You know, I'm trying to do that and have been for a few minutes, but each time I have to choose a location for the DOCUMENT not files where the messages are and it keeps coming up with the same error message as before, like it doesn't detect the email emails (which are in 6 different .dbx files, as I had my emails organised into 6 different categories). The total size of all these emails is 470mbs
