Possible corrupt picture file?

Hi
Took some pics at christening
placed them on my computer
opened a few and rotated
one file however was unable to save in new rotation
tried a few times and eventually it did?

I backup all my stuff online using backup
Did a backup and noted it didnt backup the new folder - named 2010 rio
checked on ibackup software and no mention of the folder using its browser
On my computer - went to my pictures, noticed the folder apopeared but icon showed it was empty? clicked on folder and it contained the pictures.
I wondered if it was a win 7 folder named 2010 isuue so renamed, but still the same.
How can I verify the folder / file structure is ok for this?
Running win7
