Hi all

I have this problem for long time ago and now I really need to fix it. I tried to follow a lot of solutions without good result, like: run gpedit.msc byt it is not system folder, etc.

Some body can help me to fix those tools?

thanks, Claus

Not much information to go on.

If you open a command prompt window or start --> Run

regedit or taskmgr what happens?

Do you get an error message?

There are viruses and malware that can cause this symptom.

No one can help you without a better description of the problem.

Yes is an error for both options: windows cannot find 'regedit' (or 'taskmgr') make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. to search for a file, click the start button, and then click search.

that is the error... any idea?

It could be that your path is messed up.

Try this:

1)Start --> Run
2)type cmd
3)in the command window, type
4)cd c:/windows
5)dir regedit*.*
6)see if regedit.exe is there
7)type cd system32
8)dir taksmgr*.*
9)see if taskmgr.exe is there

If the files are gone or renamed, you may have a virus.

If the files are there, check your path statement by typing "path" (omit quotes) at the command prompt. You may need to re-add c:\windows and c:\windows\system32 to the path statement
