Very Low Web Browsing Speed; While FULL P2P Download Speed???

My PC's been acting real strange over the past couple of weeks. I use a 1Mbps Broadband connection. But I only get 10kbps or 15kbps (30kbps at-most) download speed in my browser and download manager; also the web browsing is very very slow. On the other hand, I get full download speed (120kbps) in my P2P software (”Torrent) while downloading torrent files. What is the problem? Can it be solved? Is something wrong with my PC (Windows XP SP3) or my internet connection?

First of all, 1Mbps does not equal 120Kbps. If you're only getting 120Kbps max on torrents with a lot of seeders then something might be wrong.

You should try to isolate the problem. First run a speed test to your ISP. Most ISP's have a speed test website. If you can't find one they hav, pick the closest to you on DSL reports website. (http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest?flash=1)

If you have a 1 Mbps provisioned download speed from your ISP and each speed test you run during different times of the day is consistently 1 Mbps down, then there is most likely an issue on your computer. If it isn't 1 Mbps then there could be an issue with your ISP or more likely something on your LAN, like another user utilizing the connection.

Remember, 1 Mbps is different than 1 MBps. (Same applies to Kbps/KBps)
