Windows Media Sharing Issue

Sorry if this is the wrong place for posting.

After spending a day with lots of trial and errors, and also reading so many websites, i'm having to give in and ask for some expert advice.

I have 2 laptops in the house (mine on windows 7, and the wifes on XP MCE) and a Smart TV all connect to a BT Home Hub 3 router to which i have also connected an external Hard drive too. I have it all sorted that the TV can access all the files that i share from my laptop, but for some reason i can't get it to work with the wifes, even though the TV can see it (and infact the shared files that come with the XP installation can also be seen), it won't display any of the files that i add, whether on the external hard drive, or on the laptop itself. I have tried using both the Media Center and the WMP11, both with no joy. Has anyone come across this problem before, and if so, any tips on how i can fix this, i would be grateful.

PS. I would prefer not to install other software so have i have had issues before with them being unstable, especially on the bigber files.
