What OS are you using?

If you open up a command prompt (VISTA Click Start and type cmd in the search box and then Enter, XP Click Start-Run and type cmd and then Enter.

Then type ipconfig in the command prompt and Enter.

What does it say the IP Addresss is under Wireless Lan ( IPv4 Address in Vista.

Should look something like this 192.168.1.104

Hi akereem27,

Your wireless router is not giving your computer a IP Address to connect to it, that address is a APIPA address that windows gives machines when they cant aquire one off the routers DHCP.

Can you confirm two other computers are connecting wirelessly to the router. (you said CPU's in your post so just need clarification).

Before going any further could you type Network in the search box in the start button and click network and sharing centre when it appears at top of the list. Then click manage network connections on the left hand side. Then RIGHT click the Wireless Network connection and select properties. then double click internet protocol VERSION4.

Are the Radio buttons Obtain an IP address automatically, and Obtain DNS server address selected ?

Some things to check and try,

Might be worth turning your Firewall off just while you try these so we know it is out of the picture.

Type services in the search bar in start button, go to services and ensure DHCP Client is set to automatic incase someone or something has turned it off.

If that is OK

1- Go back to the network and sharing centre.

2- select Manage wireless networks on the left hand side.

3- If you see your network, RIGHT click it and select remove network (then close that box down)

4- Click connect to a network on the left hand side (you should now see your network and possibly some others listed)

5- Double click your network and enter your security password if you have one, then click connect.

See if that works.

If not, see if it will connect with a static IP Address (put in manualy) if you are unsure how to do this i can run through it with you. i will need your Routers IP or the IP of any of your working comps. They will be something like 192.168.1.1.

Try this as a last resort
