I get a blue boot screen in Windows XP Professional with the log in bar. The log in bar accepts the access code and then hangs. The screen will freeze and remain that way.
I then reboot. The same thing happens as alluded to above but when I press enter, the boot screen will attempt to boot up into Windows XP and yet it will hang again.
I then reboot. The machine goes into its log in procedure but this time it will boot up into Windows XP.
Once fully booted up, all applications in Windows function properly.
Could be anything & too dam complicated to explain how to fix,suffice to say either you have buggy software,a virus,bad driver or hardware issues,two options learn how to use msconfig & trouble shoot yourself or take it to a repairer

Yes some downloading did transpire. But McAfee ran a deep scan several times. No virus showed up in WindowsXP. The router has been set to change the IP Address periodically. Diskeeper Professional runs in the background and it has not found anything yet. System Restore has been completed at various times too. By process of elimination the terminal has been gotten to boot to the Windows log in screen. So slowly the entire problem is getting the proper fix.
Anyway please think this thing over and try to come up with a solution. Thanx...
Yes some downloading did transpire before this terminal started acting up at the log in screen. But every area has been searched. This terminal was started up in SAFE mode and it still did not turn up any problem. The reason being that it is intermittent!!! This makes it so difficult to locate. Every effort is being made to avoid formatting the hard drive.
McAfee never found any virus even at a deep scan. Diskeeper still has not located the problem. But progress is being made because sometimes, like this morning, this terminal booted up fine. Once it is logged into Windows all applications function with no problem.
It is almost like the drive is looking for missing files at log in.

get rid of mcaffee for one it dont catch everything
Well my neighbor who is a young Chinese boy who is in High School came over and looked over the problem here. He said he knew what the problem was and that he would fix everything.
He read the Hard Drive using DOS commands and then he made some changes. He had to re-install McAfee when he got done but now this terminal boots up each and every time it is turned on so the entire problem has been fixed.
