I am having some trouble in using the wirless in my Vista HP Computer. The wirless worked perfectly fine before one day I just simply moved the wirless thing to another place one time. It didn't work and I removed the wirless back to its original place but it still didin't work. At that time I thought it was my wirless that had a problem. But latter on I tried to use the wirless in a place with wirless, it still didn't work while my friends computer's wirless did. Do you know what the problem is??
First of all, we'll have to run some diagnostic tools.
1. ? Download TFC to your desktop, or other location.
? Save any unsaved work. TFC will close all open application windows.
? Double-click TFC.exe to run the program.
? If prompted, click "Yes" to reboot.
Save your work. TFC will automatically close any open programs, let it run uninterrupted. It shouldn't take longer take a couple of minutes, and may only take a few seconds. Only if needed will you be prompted to reboot.
2. ? Please download RSIT from here.
? Please download the HijackThis zip file and unzip HijackThis.exe into the same folder as RSIT.exe. We will need it later.
? Run RSIT.exe and follow the prompts.
? When the scan is finished, two notepad windows will pop up; log.txt and info.txt. They are also located at C:\rsit.
? Post log.txt and info.txt here.
3. ? Please download the Intel Wireless Driver ? Unzip the archive and run the file.
? Reinstall your wireless driver.
? Restart if needed.
Things I'll need in your next post: 1. RSIT logs
2. Whether your wireless driver is working now
Do not mess in my affairs; you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup. The greatest advantage you can have over someone is to know their name. Success is relative; the more success the more relatives. A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kickboxing.

Also, those models are notorious for the outer wifi slider coming off of the inner wifi switch...does the light change colors when you flip the switch?
