XP lost internet and auto reboots ?

I had a working laptop till Tuesday, went to shutdown and it decided to reboot. Tried again and likewise. Since then I have no internet connection either wired or wireless. Tried to reinstall my O2 router with the installation disc but it cannot connect ? Run system test thru 'Tune up Utilities' and everything is said to be fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Running Windows XP SP3 with Internet Explorer 8. Mcafee Total protection. Computer seems to work ok but no internet ?
