There was a previous entry on this forum about this problem, http://keskustelu.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-151/avast_blocked_access_to_malicious_site-870357 but it was all in Finnish, so anyway here's my problem.
When I connect to the internet, Avast keeps saying that it blocked a malicious url, which starts with cikh71ynks66.com but continues in what seems to be a long stream of random characters.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/ervty/message2.jpg
I'm also having a similar, but I'm not sure if related problem, where if I search something on Yahoo!, if I click a link, it pauses a second then redirects me to one of several crappy spam sites, like shopcompareus.com, www.ftd.com, www.localhometown.com, etc. you get the picture.
My computer's getting over a virus that I accidently opened last Sunday, which originally disabled Windows Defender, Task Manager, System Restore, and Regedit, but after several virus scans was able to be removed, allowing the afforementioned programs to start running again, but leaving spyware and adware embedded in Internet Explorer and Firefox which so far haven't been able to be removed with AdAware or Spybot Search and Destroy.
Also, I checked with my school and they're not allowed to do OS reinstalls anymore, so unless I want to go to a computer repair shop, my only choice right now is to try whatever I can to fix these problems on my own.
Sorry for the long post. Please respond with any suggestions or questions.

P.S. I tested it a bit more, and the redirect problem occurs both in Internet Explorer and Firefox, and both Yahoo and Google.

I can find nothing in your Log..
Have you tried a restore to a point before this started? You should try that first.

Yep. Did a system restore yesterday after the main virus was removed (sorry, I don't have the log of which virus it was, since it was done at the library help desk and I don't know if they kept a log) to last Friday, two days before I got my virus on Sunday.

If you still have the problem, try this:
Run Malwarebytes Antimalware in the Safe mode..
Then run SuperAntiSpyware in regular mode and post both logs letting me know what problems you still have.

With the slowdowns, the search redirects, the Host Processes failing, and the cikh malicious url, no help from Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware, Avast, CCleaner, or Malware Bytes, plus another problem that was in scvhost.exe, I decided to just re-install Vista, which was easier said than done, and for a while it looked like I'd have to take it to a professional. But with some help from by father and brother, I sucessfully reinstalled Vista, and that solved all my problems. And it was just a re-install, with everything else going to Windows.old, plus a portable hard drive backup just in case, I didn't lose a bit of important data.
For anyone else with this problem and coming to this thread, sorry. No help here save reinstalling your operating system.
