Since you've mention defragging. It might be of interest.
look appropriate solution for this. just refer to some pc health guru or PC Health Advisor on net.
ok your saying download pc health advisor ????....i think ive got far enough with the two lads advice and programs without pc health advisor , is it free ,safe and is it something that works or is even worth the bother,,are you given advice or advertising ???????
lol, I am comment from this topic not mean I am advertising. I'm happy to participate every forum such as sharing opinion related to PC, software, hardware. Since I'm studying and taking up a course of Computer engineering I trained myself by way of reading and participating on the forum topic.
And about pc health advisor I've no hesitation in many times recommending the products because I currently using this.

Glary utilities has a registry cleaner its pretty good at deleting obsolete registry keys. ccleaner for getting temp file, history, ect. smart defrag (better than stock defrag for windows)much more efficient. These utilities will help your PC run faster and they applications are also free

The entries below are auto run at start up,the programs themselves are they really needed at sartup, certainly powerdvd & processquicklink aren't as they can be called up by their corresponding program short cuts including auto updaters, don't delete the entries use each of the programs to disable themselves, any program that is an updater & is turned off will need to be done manually at timed intervals say monthly,as for crawler toolbar if you won't be using it you can remove thru add/remove,you may want to consider using sandboxie or returnil & definatley get an imaging program either macrium reflect (free) or ghost or true image

@scorp, The 023 line is a Service that has a file missing - removing the 023 line does not get rid of the Service. I'll show you how to remove the Service in the next post but first:

tempo2006, Your HJT is running from your Desktop and that's a No-no!
It should be running from it's own folder. That way, if you make a mistake and delete a line that you need, you can go back and restore the line you deleted.. make sense?
Not from the Desktop as it shows in your Log!
C:\Users\owner\Desktop\HiJackThis.exe

Re-install your HJT so it resides in it's own folder then, I'll give you some bad lines to delete and clean up some of the unnessary start-up's that scorp mentioned..

Marvell Yukon Service is a Ethernet card in your laptop. Files are missing so you probably don?t need it.. It may no longer be in your computer. Do you know?

Step # 1: Remove Hijackthis Entries
? Run HijackThis
? Click on the Scan button
Put a check beside all of the items listed below (if present):

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)

O23 - Service: Marvell Yukon Service (yksvc) - Unknown owner - RUNDLL32.EXE (file missing)

Close all open windows and browsers/email, etc...
Click on the "Fix Checked" button
When completed, close the application.

Step # 2: Delete Services

Please open Notepad. Ensure that word wrap is turned off. Click on Format and make sure that there is not a tick next to Word Wrap. If there's one, click on Word Wrap to remove it. Copy and paste the following in the code box into Notepad:

@echo off
sc stop yksvc
sc delete yksvc
exit

Click on File > Save As....

In the File Name box, copy and paste in fix.bat
In the Save as type box, select All Files from the drop-down list.

Click Save and save it to your Desktop.

Double click on fix.bat. A Command Prompt window will open and close quickly. That is normal, your done..

Step # 3 Stop Un-necessary Programs from Running at Start-up

Please download Malwarebytes Startuplite.

Run this and it will find all the programs that do not need to be running All of the time using your resources. You can run them when needed..

Let us know if you have any problems.

sorry for not getting back till now was busy all week , any how done everything in the last post so hopefully it all went ok , malware startuplite only found two programs to disable,,they were ...PERSISTANCE and SWG but when i click continue it comes up"error on value:persistance..there was an error creating a msconfig key but it then comes up the same for swg but then says all actions completed successfully prob just another prob with vista...everything else seems ok ,ill repost a log sometime next week( if you dont mind that is) just to see am i on the right track..just another issue i have spyware terminator running for a while just to see how it goes its ok but a little bit annoying when it comes up to allow google or something as safe as that but getting better with it but it comes up at the start that my computer has security issues cos i dont have windows firewall or windows malware protection on will i turn them on or is spyware terminator good enough to run alone or do you recommend something differnet alltogether, i also watch a lot of sport using sop cast and myp2p and it used to work great but now when im using it the green box down the corner can just go from 100 to 0 in a second and lose connection so if you have any experience at all with sopcast do you think its my internet connection or my laptop having issues my internet is only mobile broadband but used to always play the matches and has full coverage but download speed is usually onle between 1000 and 3000 kbps , sorry if this is the wrong forum for this but if it is could you direct me ,i did see MICKAH put a tutorial up on dvb discussion ,,any how ill be back on over the weekend and next week ,,thanks for eveyones help :)

enable basic if you have expert mode toggled you'll get asked for every action,be sure to tick "remember" before allowing process, you can also use system tray icon right click select install mode or allow

avira for antivirus

comodo for firewall do not enable comodo anitvirus,it's bloody useless flags windows files as viruses

2old will like this one
invest in acronis 11 i can't recommend ghost 15 the features are no better than ghost 12,if you get acron 11 if you use try n decide mode you will get massive slow startup if avira & spyterm are enabled more so for single cpu comp

give away of the day daily freebies be sure to read reviews some software is crap..lol..
they even had acronis a few weeks back sadly i missed out
