Im having a serious problem with a virus my PC acquired a few days ago. When I boot up my PC and log onto windows I get a nasty little pop up that claims to be Windows antivirus pro, every time I try to run a program it says the file is infected and cannot be opened. Ive researched this virus on these forums and have tried some of the solutions but with no luck.

I rebooted my PC in safe mode with networking, logged in as admin (note: when I log in as an admin in safe mode, I dont get any pop ups abotu Windows antivirus pro) however I am still unable to run any programs. I tried downloading malwarebytes anti malware, installed it and started the scan but it shut down automatically with no error messages. When I click on the icon it acts as if its going to load the program then just stops. I cant run any programs including hijack this or mcafee antivirus.

any ideas on how to solve this?

I also tried running Sdfix but as it was scanning files it also mysteriously crashed.

I have my computer connected to a home network, is there anything I can do from my other computer to detect the issue on my infected PC, since I cant run any form of detection software.\

it is not a virus but is malware so run malwarebytes in safemode. also look in all programs\startup & msconfig\startup & remove the malware from there. i have used spybot search & destroy on this.

It wont let me run malwarebytes anti malware, Ive tried un installing and reinstalling and when I do it starts the scan but the program crashes after about 20 seconds. I did this all in safe mode. Ill try running spybot search and destroy and see if that works.com

SB S&D crashed shortley after running just as malwarebytes did. Is there anyway to run a scan on my infected computer from a different computer on the network?

Yes, even in safe mode just about every program I try to run crashes or doesnt even start, its like the process is just canceled. Tried to do a system restore but dont have any restore points set up.

Im trying to avoid reformatting the hard drive because I have several programs that I dont have the authority to re-install a second time.

Ive tried renaming the executable files for antimalware and spybot and this allows them to intially start but after about 30 seconds of running they crash. Afterwords the icon for each of these programs on the desktop changes to a little blank window icon.

I tried to run a report in SDfix but it never generated..

Any ideas?

I just did that and now windows anti virus doesnt load up during start up, however, when I run IE I get several pop ups for it. I keep getting a system error stating that I dont have authorization and that there is a problem with servicelayer.exe Malwarebytes still doesnt run as well as any other scanning program.

I tried but there were no restore points set up. Yes, I tried running the programs in safe mode and am still having the same results. One thing that I did notice is that whenever I log in under normal mode and open IE, audio clips and music begin to play, thought it was a pop up at first but the music plays even on sites like google.
